Position: Head of Synthetic & Analytical Chemistry
Location: Camden, London, UK


PolyTherics is a London-based biopharmaceutical company specialising in enabling technologies for the development of new therapeutics and a leader in the site-specific conjugation of polymers to proteins. This is a clinically proven strategy for biopharmaceutical development.  Our facilities at the London Bioscience and Innovation Centre in Camden, offer a pleasant and convenient location in the centre of London.

A new full-time position has arisen for an experienced laboratory scientist to lead the Synthetic & Analytical Chemistry team. Within this role you will be expected to ensure that the company and its collaborators have a supply of appropriate synthetic reagents using both in-house and outsourced production. You will also ensure that suitable analytical support for the company’s activities is provided both in-house and externally using techniques such as mass spectroscopy, NMR and HPLC.

You will be required to provide scientific leadership and creativity when initiating, designing, and executing projects to prepare new reagents.

Holding a PhD, you will have expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and analytical chemistry. You will be an experienced manager of laboratory staff and projects with experience of managing outsourced work. Industrial experience is essential and familiarity with the design and derivatisation of biomedical polymers is an advantage.

Excellent communication and interdisciplinary team-working skills are essential. You will need to be flexible and be able to work to deadlines.

Position: Head of Bioconjugation & Bioanalysis

This is a clinically proven strategy for biopharmaceutical development.  Our facilities at the London Bioscience and Innovation Centre in Camden, offer a pleasant and convenient location in the centre of London.

A full-time position has arisen for an experienced laboratory scientist to lead the Bioconjugation & Bioanalysis teams.  In this role you will have responsibility for developing and applying the company’s proprietary technologies to create better biopharmaceuticals and for the biological characterisation of the conjugated products. Within this new interdisciplinary role you will be expected to provide scientific leadership and creativity when initiating, designing, and executing both internal and external projects.

You will hold a PhD and have at least 5 years experience in the development and analysis of biopharmaceutical products as well as being an experienced manager of laboratory staff and projects. Industrial experience is essential and familiarity with the development of PEGylated products and/or protein drug conjugates and in vitro biological assays is a distinct advantage.

Excellent communication and interdisciplinary team-working skills are essential. You will need to be flexible and be able to work to deadlines.
