PolyTherics has filed patents on its core technologies including TheraPEG technology, and continues to develop its intellectual property portfolio.
Representative applications of the TheraPEG technology have been published in Nature Chemical Biology, 2006, p312-323 and a theoretical validation study is due to be published in Theoretical Chemical Accounts, 2006.
The PEG patent supports both the outlicensing of TheraPEG technology and the Company's continuing investment in the technology. The strong patent base has secured PolyTherics and its partners freedom to operate in this field.
Beyond PEGylation, PolyTherics continued build its intellectual property estate in the area of biomedical polymers.
- Synthesis of new linear polymers incorporating small molecules.
- Novel polymers with inherent therapeutic effect. Exploits the polyvalent interactions between certain polymers and the immune system and their ability to act as carriers for small molecules, antibodies and peptides.
