PolyTherics - Precision Biopharmaceuticals

Products

PolyTherics is developing two biobetter products which it intends to out-license for clinical development and commercialisation.

PolyTherics also has a research programme in which recombinant unglycosylated erythropoietin (EPO) produced in Escherichia coli has been PEGylated.  The PEGylated EPO has shown an extended half-life in vivo.  Producing EPO in bacteria has huge cost benefit compared with EPO produced in mammalian cells.  This programme is available for further research collaboration.

HiPEG™ IFN α-2a is the most advanced of the Company’s programmes and improved potency in vitro versus a PEGylated marketed IFN and an extended half-life in a preclinical model have been demonstrated. PolyTherics has selected a contract manufacturing organisation to scale-up protein production and PEGylation and work is ongoing.

PolyTherics has produced various PEGylated derivatives of  IFN β-1b using TheraPEG™ and testing of these is ongoing.  A lead candidate is due to be selected at the end of 2010.

PolyTherics’ products programmes are available for licensing for specific uses and territories. Contact Business Development.
