HiPEG™ IFN α-2a
PolyTherics has produced an improved version of IFN α-2a by engineering a histidine-tag at the N terminus of the protein. The precision chemistry of the Company’s HiPEG™ technology has been used to selectively conjugate PEG to the tag’s histidine-residues.
The activity of HiPEG™ IFN α-2a was retained in vitro antiviral assays.
The half-life HiPEG™ IFN α-2a has been shown to be comparable to that of a marketed PEGylated IFN a in a preclinical study.
The manufacture of HiPEG™ IFN α-2a protein has been completed by a contract manufacturing organisation.
