Technologies
PolyTherics’ PEGylation technologies attach PEG to a specific site on the protein or peptide so the PEGylated products are more homogeneous and their quality more predictable than those produced by traditional PEGylation methods (where the PEG can attach to multiple sites creating a mixture of proteins with the PEG at different positions). Having a more homogeneous product simplifies the purification process and increases the product yield, contributing to a lower cost of manufacture. PolyTherics’ PEGylation chemistries require less PEG than traditional methods of PEGylation making them very efficient and helping reduce the cost of manufacturing the product.
PolyTherics has successfully applied its PEGylation chemistries to a wide range of proteins and peptides, including antibody fragments, enzymes, hormones, blood proteins, and cytokines. The Company’s PEGylation technologies are available for evaluation under a research licence agreement and for licensing of specific PEGylated products or classes of products for development and/or commercialisation.
PolyTherics has also developed a novel way of solubilising insoluble small molecules being developed as medicines by use of polymeric complexes. This technology has been exemplified using amphotericin B and is available for collaborative research and licensing.
