CyPEG™
PolyTherics has developed a method for attaching PEG to a free cysteine thiol in a protein or peptide; this technology is called CyPEG™. The introduction of cysteine residues into proteins or peptides expressed in Escherichia coli is long-established. PEGylation using CyPEG™ generates conjugates that are more stable than those PEGylated using the established non-proprietary PEG maleimide reagents.
